30/01/2012 (All day) - 03/02/2012 (All day) Besides helping you with registration, flat searching and other useful things that you need for surviving in Budapest, we will organize lots of events for you so you can get to know us, each other and the beautiful city of Budapest.
Monday, 30th January
We will start with an Official Opening, where you will hear some short introductory
speeches (for example from the International Office, or from the president of ESN BME about ESN).
Next you will get over with the REGISTRATION. Bring all the documents they asked
for in the official admission letter, and don’t forget to bring your IDs and some ID
photos! Registration time is 1:00 pm. Place Building A
After all this, there will be the Meeting Your Mentors program. It is for us to get
to know you better in smaller groups. While chatting in some pub next to a beer or
coffee, your mentors will give you some useful information.
Time: after the Registration and starts Building A.
Tuesday, 31st January
Well, this will be a long one! In the morning, we organize a Flat Searching Event, for
those who don’t have a place to stay yet.
In the evening, you are welcome to a Get-2-Know party, which is kind of a challenge
game. You will be in teams and go through different tasks that involves some
drinking, too. It’s a lot of fun every year. (And it’s also free.) When we finish, we go to
the all-night Welcome Party.

About: playing games to get to know each other (free with ESN Card!)

- Welcome Party
About: the opening party of the semester!
Time: 9:00 PM

Wednesday, 1st February
We continue the Flat Searching in the morning.
In the evening, there will be a Pub Crawl, where we travel through all the popular
pubs around the university.

Time: from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM
Place: building Z, ground floor
Pub Crawl
About: we get a closer look on the local bars :)
Time: 7:00 PM
Place: we meet at Goldmann György Tér again
Thursday, 2nd February
This day there will be a Neptun Workshop (Neptun is the university’s student
administration system), where we help you to register (it’s a bit tricky), and teach you
how to use it. Also, we will help you to get WiFi for your computer.

About: this is where we teach you how to use the university’s student administration system (who to sign up for subjects, exams, how to get wifi for your computer etc.)
Time: from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM
Place: building R
Friday, 3rd February
It will be the City Rally day. After a day going around Budapest, you will have a
guided tour in the Castle of Buda (that’s the one from Katy Perry’s Firework video :) ).
City Rally
About: games and tasks all over Budapest, to get to know the city better (at the end, guided sightseeing in Buda Castle)
Time: 12:00 PM
Place: we meet at Vörösmarty Tér, above the underground station
Saturday and Sunday, 4th&5th February
Over the weekend, we go away on a Freshmen Camp to the beautiful city of
Esztergom.
Hungarian culture, exploring the city with games, fun in an aquapark, party… You don’t want to miss it, believe me. :)

(We have to warn you, that an unusual amount of students come this year, and places
for the events like the Get-2-Know, Pub Crawl and Freshmen Camp are limited. So
be prepared, and sign up as soon as possible on the Orientation Week.)
